The Squire sits at 123 Monmouth Road in West Long Branch, New Jersey — the same address where Squire's Pub welcomed generations of Monmouth County families from the 1970s through the mid-1990s. It was the kind of place where parents celebrated anniversaries, friends gathered after work, and memories were made over good food and warm conversation.
For locals who grew up in Monmouth County, Squire's Pub holds a special place in memory. Owner Steven Meyer, a Middletown native, recalls: "My parents used to go to Squire's Pub and celebrated many special occasions here, so opening this restaurant is a full circle moment for me."
In July 2023, that legacy was reborn. The Squire opened its doors inside the beautifully renovated Branches event venue — honoring the past while crafting something entirely new for the Jersey Shore.
A Heritage Tavern Reimagined
The Squire underwent a complete renovation to create a space that feels both timeless and fresh. An expansive bar anchors the room, flanked by a beautifully crafted wine room and a gas-burning fireplace with stone surround.
Candlelit tables, warm wood tones, and soft lighting set the stage for intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings alike. Whether you're stopping in for craft cocktails at the bar or settling into the dining room for a multi-course meal, the atmosphere invites you to slow down and savor the moment.
Located inside Branches, Monmouth County's premier event venue, The Squire also offers a private dining room for parties of 12–35 guests.

And in 2023, The Squire returned — a full-service restaurant honoring the pub that started it all. Owner Steven Meyer, who grew up in Middletown with childhood memories of Squire's Pub, brought the name back to where it belongs.
